Zenith Space Command 1985

So, as I gave up hope (just yesterday) of finding something like this anytime before Spring, I found a beautiful 1985 Zenith today.

Nice bright color and clear sound.

About two minutes of cleaning and viola!

I think is well worth the whole FIVE DOLLARS I spent on it today. It was a toss up between this and a Sharp Linytron.

So glad I picked the Zenith.

Anyone have a photo of what the original remote looked like??

Not sure if that had a 6 button or full remote. Post
the model # & I will see if I have a manual. Starts
with SS, SY, or SZ****. No way to send a pix. but I
can get you a part # & description. Its about the time
they made a big switch in remote styles.
They were very good sets, MUCH better than Sharps. If
it wernt for HDTV & cheap flat screens there would be
tens of thousands still in use. We junked them by the
trailer full still working like new 5 yrs ago..........

Thanks everyone.

The model number is SB1923WC.

Good news is that I have a much newer Zenith and the remote worked on this set. I'd still love to see what the original model looks like. Got one coming from Ebay. Buttons look close to what the set has and the Zenith name is the same kind of font.

Looking forward to more info!

I have one of these I found on the curb nearly 6 years ago. It worked when I got it and it still works perfectly. I haven't found an original remote, though.

This really is a COOL set. For a tv that is almost 30 years old, the picture is rather impressive. I can only imagine what it was like new!!

That's one reason I'm stockpiling remotes for my favorite sets. So many whose remotes are missing or busted.

The set probably used a 124-32 remote, its a full keyboard. Also shown is the
124-110 that also has VCR controls. This is from Sams. If you
want what it came with out of the box you would need to look it
up in Zenith factory manuals to be sure. If I get some time later I
can see if I can spot one but I got a turkey going in the barbie
today..............
