RCA G27649 RCA's Last Console (Aux inputs)

Greetings everyone!

I brought home an RCA G27649, It's gotta be the last console made from RCA or otherwise, and the price was right free, I saved it from the compactor. This one was built in mid 2001. It works and looks good. I will attach some photos later today if anyone wants to see it.

I have netflix streaming, and I have a roku box, the TV has Aux input but I can't find any way to switch the TV to Aux input. I tired channels in the 90s and channel 00 01. and tired tuning down below 03-04, can't get the set to go to aux. I don't have the remote for the set.

Short of using an RF Converter, is there anything I can do or try?

You may need the OEM remote. Try all the codes first.
What chassis is it ? I may have the manual on it.

On some sets holding both channel buttons in, or else both volume buttons, may get you to a menu.

From '01, it's probably a CTC203 chassis and if it's not the last console, it's pretty close to it. On the ones that I've had, any universal remote with an "input" or "source" key will get you to the A/V input jacks.

The CTC203 was also the last "decent" chassis before RCA started using a bunch of worthless chinese-made junk.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have no problems getting to the menu it's just getting to the A/V inputs. I have a universal remote but it don't have any "input" buttons.

Attached is a photo, I will pull it away from the wall tomorrow, and get the chassis number, I know it said made/assembled in Mexico. I did not see china anywhere on it.

I did a model/chassis cross-reference in the Photofact index and it does use a CTC203 chassis.

I remember seeing these at the local electronics store and I think they were around $650. Of course, one could buy the 27" black plastic table model version for $249.99 (or less). I think they also made a version of this set that was on a swivel base.

Last year, I sold a 2001 Zenith console to an older lady who wanted a console; but, IMHO, the later RCA's were better than the later Zenith's. I've heard that Zenith offered consoles as recent as 2005; but, I have no way to confirm this.

I can confirm the set has a CTC203 chassis. Good to know it's still considered decent. It has a good picture and appears to be a low hours set, Lack of major dust and good bright picture that comes up quick.

I don't think it has any real wood in the set, beside some glue blocks. But that's OK, the piece of furniture is replaced was all press board too, and I think the console looks much nicer.

A GE universal remote might work with your set. I use one with my own video system (Insignia flat screen TV, Panasonic VCR, LG Blu-ray player), and it works great. These remotes do have an "input" selector button that will switch among four different inputs--two HDMI, one A/V and one VGA. This remote should give you full access to the input selection menu of your TV, as well as all other functions of the set. It may work with your Roku streaming video box too.

BTW: Your set is one of the newer (and probably last) CRT TVs made by Thomson/RCA in the '90s, so I see no reason why a GE remote won't work with it, and with any other video devices you may own.

May sound nuts but some of these sets went to AUX or video by selecting channel 91 on the remote. I know it sounds nuts. Also, CTC203 chassis if originally set up and no VCR or cable box was selected on the seetup menu, would lock out the video inputs. Drove some customers crazy. Also, be careful, if you select "cable box" on the menu, it may lock you on channel 3 or 4 (whatever you selected during the setup). The engineers behind the software on these sets had a bit of a masochistic streak
