There may be an issue with the AFT (automatic fine tuning) voltage drifting.
I will look in my RCA service manual.

Maybe a can of freeze spray would find the problem part. I don't remember RCA's tuners being much trouble, but none had turrets like the Mags, Zeniths and others..
