Anyone seen RCA Hi-Fi's from Japan?

Well I found one, right in my own backyard.

No info on it, so I'm looking for some. Tuner/changer has model number SRP-501, speakers are BA-501. Speakers have 6AR5 push-pull amps built into them, which would sound quite nice if recapped. Can't make heads nor tails of anything else, everything is in Japanese and the tubes are all Matsushita...

Victor company of japan is JVC not RCA - nice find I am envious, especially with 6AR5s ! Please post photos of speakers and amps if you get the opportunity. JVC began as a foreign arm of Victor way back in the acoustical recording days.

The decal looks like leftover artwork from a 1924 one-tube project. I love the wings on the speakers. Anything on the sides that need deflecting forward?

JVC and RCA seemed to be chummy even after WWII...If you look at JVC records from the early days of stereo they have some of the same 'Living Stereo' art that RCA Victor records in the states have.

So... Victor of Japan isn't the same/under licence at that time from RCA? Curious, as it clearly has an RCA logo under the lid.

Dave, yes the 'wings' deflect sound from the mids on either side.

Max. I'll see about posting pics of the insides.

Interesting Audiola... I've only ever seen the Nivico systems... don't have a shot of the console but I do have a shot of the clever 'goat's head' logo.

That stereo must have been bought in Japan, and privately imported.
I bet there's an interesting story behind it.
