I suppose there's a possibility that at some point someone subbed a non original transformer with an extra damper filament winding.

Well, I could be wrong on the Admiral, then. Been awhile since I've looked at it.
But, RCA sure did have a separate winding for the 6W4 on their sets. Look at the schematics for the later 9T246, and, the KCS 47.
Thanks for the help, guys. I'm waiting for a replay from one company on both this transformer, and, the one for my RCA KCS26A.
In the meantime, I called a dealer in Livonia Michigan, whom, while it's doubtful he has the parts, remembered my old boss, Craig W Knox, being there occasionally to buy parts many years ago... He even remembered our shop name, Rainbow Television Service... Sure miss Craig. He's the best boss I've ever had.

Bad news on getting transformers... Moyer called me yesterday with bad news. They no longer carry antique power transformers, and, flybacks. They have run out at all three stores.
They still carry more modern stuff, but, are pretty much out of antique numbers, according to the message they left.
Can't anyone help me??

Unless you're concerned about 'absolute' authenticity, and still leery about running the 6W4 without heater isolation, why not run a 6AX4 on the common heater supply? it has the same basing and heater current (1.2A) as the 6W4.
If still concerned about H-K breakdown, put a fuse in the B+ line to the damper.

6AU4 is a little beefier, has the same basing, but higher H current (1.8A).

I REALLY hate to hear that! They were a big bail out for me more than once and I don't know ANYONE left retailing vintage transformers!!!

It's bad news for me also. I'm not worried about the damper anymore. I'm just worried about finding a transformer.
On the RCA they put in two 6 volt filament supplies, switched. One for tv., other for radio. I doubt the T100 tranny will work.
I don't know what to do now..........

Looked further - the 80C26-2 has a higher current rating on the 6.3V winding, else it's the same as the 80C26-1. The additional current capability was to power the phono amp tubes. Both cross to the same Thordarson and Triad part numbers, so the mounts are apparently the same, and both sets used a 6W4 damper, with the filament fed from the power tranny, no separate filament transformer for the damper.

So if you need a transformer, give Play Things of the Past a call. They are likely the only ones out there with a tranny.

Your RCA transformer should be a part #74046. Crosses to Stancor P-8153 and Thordarson 26R75. Keep your eyes on ebay and one will show eventually.

I tried calling playthings two days ago, and, they weren't friendly. They said they don't go by part numbers. Said I would have to give them All factory specs on it.

Actually, they were quite friendly with me - I sent them an email with the listing from their webpage for the coil I needed, gave them the info from their page, and within a hour had a response with shipping quote. Six days later, I had my part. (And the day we got it going? Another, somewhat-working 721TS, GIVEN to us)

Read my earlier post - the page and info from their page is right there. Factory specs, part number, their reference, and their dimensions...... They put it out there, they should be able to supply it.

**I just noticed they may be on vacation... website shows no communication from 6-10 September.
