Yeah, I figured it might of been a K1820 Norfolk. My folks must have picked it up used. I have no recollectoin of ever watching it, but I didn't come on the scene until 5 years later.

Looks like a 17" 1953 Zenith table model....I've got it's 21" big brother.

Okay, i'm confused, the same set I mentioned above on A.R.F. is listed here on VK as a L1820R. Anyway, that set in the picture's a Zenith for sure.

Family photos are more or less commom, but photos taken inside stores are really rare, at least where I live. That is why I am still in love with this picture that I found today on a Facebook group. It was taken in 1955 or 1956, inside the "Pirani" appliance store ( long out of business ), the table TVs are the first Brazilian made Philips. The TV-radio-phono combo on the right is probably a Philco.

Great photo. Looks like Philips was flooding the market with these first Brazilian entry level table models. I wonder how many customers were "sold up" to more expensive models?

Not many I imagine from my experience collecting TVs... TVs from expensive brands like Zenith or RCA are not common here, on the other hand it's not difficult to see Admirals or Brazilian-made Philcos. TV here began in 1950, so TVs from the early 50's are not common, what is surfacing more are late 50's sets, we see many 21 inch Philips and Philcos.

No more photos, unfortunately. Photos from that era taken inside stores are scarce, I don't know why, I don't know if people simply didn't use to take pictures inside those shops or if these kind of pictures were destroyed or if they do exist but are still hidden away with the descendants of the original owners of those stores. Keep in mind that most of those TVs and appliance stores are long gone. I believe that if they were still in business we would see those kinds of pictures more often, because they would like to celebrate their history.

Family photos of TV sets, taken inside people's living rooms are another matter, they do surface, I have been able to buy some and even posted them here on this thread.
