No the chassis in that set is very good, I would just keep an eye out for one because I would want to keep this set going forever, and even the best chassis does eventually wear out!

I think Zenith closed the Melrose CRT plant around 2000-2001, and started buying tubes off of Thomson which made some pretty good CRTs.
