Ornate Sparton Equisonne console - CL, north MO
http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/atq/5946020653.html
You don't see one of these every day: a 740 in an ornate highboy cabinet, in very nice condition. No affiliation and I am out of room for radios so I'm posting it in case someone might be interested.

![]() Cool cabinet but it looks like the original power supply and amplifier have been replaced with something newer. |

Ooh I didn't notice before but those tubes are not 1920s! Good eye.
I hope a collector got it and will restore it with original guts. Just as likely someone snagged it for furniture and will trash the guts. But we can hope.

Too bad the most valuable part of the radio was long gone , the original amp chassis had two 50 tubes , yes indeed , THE 50 output tube that seems to be the darling of the audiophile crowd and sells for up to $500 each . The present amp chassis is a kludge in from an old Hammond organ , and is pretty much worthless . |

I suspect that even the 3 volt filament RF tubes, 485's were changed to match the new power transformer.
