The circuit is a little tricky and it used selected components. You generally had to use genuine Sony replacements which were hard to get, even years ago. They generally failed when the horiz driver transformer connections needed resoldering.

SG sets we refused to do so I only did a few for some VERY good customers.
Even when I worked for Sony I didnt do them. Other problem is Sony
would use a totally different chassis in the same model ##. Had to go
by the serial ## or SCC chassis ##.
IIRC on the KV1710 some had a different supply using a second SG-613.
What a dog & cost $$$$$$ to fix.
BTW wernt they 2SC867 ?
