The bad transistor was removed and I actually replaced the transistor with an equivalent of the other small transistor on the board. That transistor seemed to be the same as the blown one when poking around and it seems to have been, but your answer is great and I will have to bookmark this page for reference since this board is causing issues.
After replacing the transistor and a bad diode, this tv now turns on, but it has severe picture issues so this TV has another thread on it. So far I don't have much faith in this tv but I'll try my best to save it.
It seems a lot of people have not seen a cataract on a Sony. This TV was very abused and was left to rot in a building of over 50 other TVs, so maybe that had something to do with it.
