Zenith F1150P1 Troubleshooting

Hello all,

I recently acquired this B/W TV out of an old motel. Its missing the original power plug so I had to use the standard two pin cable on the wider prongs for AC. Seems to work okay, but with a host of issues.

I get a lot of retrace lines and get a triple, double, sometimes quadruple image depending on the horizontal sync setting. I believe there is an issue with the oscillator, but I am having issues finding any kind of information on this unit.
The screen is also shrunk horizontally. I figured there would be a horizontal size pot on the inside, but no such luck.

I was wondering if anyone has a service manual or any advice on how to approach this TV. Any information or where to find it would be much appreciated.

Manual is Sams 1489-3. Dont buy the Sams unless a last resort.
For $22 you get a crappy PDF or Xerox. PM me if you dont find
a free one.

Horz osc is running way off freq. IIRC these used a coil for the
horz hold. Keep turning in the direction that the width increases
til the pix snaps in.
Only other problems these had were rectifiers, 12V regulator,
vert outputs & yoke coupling caps. Near 100% reliable otherwise.

Turning the horizontal hold seems to do the trick! I didn't know it would continue to turn that far and I was worried about breaking it as it got a bit tight, but the picture snapped in and looks pretty good. Had to adjust the vertical size a bit, but that was it. Thanks for the help! As I have too many TVs this one will be passed on. Its nice to know its in working order though.
