Purple RCA TV
If BPC means "black plastic crap," would this thing be "PPC"?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/123836816413 Seriously though, I realize that this is an interesting set, and am not disparaging it for those who would be into it. |

I remember when RCA got all "swoopy" in their design, after years of making rectangular boxes. Hard to believe that this looked modern at one time!
Maybe for watching Prince music videos? Last edited by maxhifi; 09-13-2019 at 12:45 PM. |

I'll stick to my white RCA 13" TV-VCR combo. It has a swivel base!
I mostly got it to use as a monitor for really old computers... |

I have a very similar one, but it's regular black. I just use it as a baseline for doing adjustments. Pretty decent picture for what it is. Also it's pointed towards my computer chair, so I can watch tv while on the pc, once in a while.

RCA and Zenith borrowed iMac styling on their little 13" sets in 1999-2000. Both had multiple colors, Zenith's were see through.

Some rather well off Cyoot widdle Grrrrl was likely squealing w/Glee at this on either Christmas Morning or her Birthday,,, say when, maybe 1995 or so ?!? If I'd had enuf "Loaded" buds, I woulda got this for MY B-day, but my buds were either too cheap, or more likely, MY buds all DESPISED me way too much to spring for a "Coloured Television"...Hehehehehehe...

We used to have the black version of that in my parents' room, and ours was from 1996. It had the XL100 name at the top right of the cabinet, and also Commercial Skip which was a timer you could set to change channels after a certain duration. It was on the top of the dresser and my mom had her computer in there, so she could watch/listen to it while she was on the computer.
It had a really good picture but unfortunately it just wouldn't turn on one day. I suspect hit by a surge. I really liked it though. Like GE's sets of the time, it was made by Thomson SA. |

I remember seeing a "13 RCA TV in clear plastic case at my local flea market I didn't get because it was not old enough for my taste but it was still cool to look at.

I'm told the clear plastic is for prison use TVs.

Some were, some weren't. Clear plastic sets in some models could also be bought commercially.

One of my friends had a silver one like that back when I was in high school. Many a Gamecube game (and Xbox!) was indeed played on it.
EDIT: His was a bit newer as it had A/V jacks on the front |
