You'd think that CBS would have RX90s or at the very least be using the 15HP22 tubes in the units they had in their studios.

I wondered about this myself. CBS had already purchased RCA color broadcasting equipment. Perhaps this was the most convenient way to supply color receivers for their early color monitor needs . CBS did, shortly, purchase RCA TM-10 15" color monitors when they became available. CBS color control room. Click to enlarge:
