Picture files are too large to share.

Hi Everyone,

How do I get the pictures from my tablet onto this forum?

Hi to all,

@Xdevo1973 : reducing picture size for forum postings - here's a translated tutorial posted on our French RadioFil forum

Easiest, for Windows users :

Tool : Windows screen capture
in the search bar, enter "screen capture tool"

open the photo/document you want to reduce on your computer
launch the software
select New
select the entire photo or part of it
you can select part of the photo using the stylus, felt pen or eraser
to finish, "File", "Save to" then save to the Desk or any directory of your choice
Your image is now reduced in size and available for forum posting

Free size-reducing software available on the Internet :

VSO Image Resizer (useful only for size reduction)
XnView (a very good application to edit your photos)

https://vso-image-resizer.fr.uptodown.com/windows

Online size reducer :

https://imagecompressor.com/fr/

select your photos with the mouse then deposit them
select image quality to be below 800 Kb
very convenient if you need to select & reduce several pictures

Hope this helps,

Best Regards

I think my Android phone autoscales the uploads. I use Flickr on my PC and if I could figure out how to upload to it from my phone I'd use it instead of the VK photo hosting...

Hi Electronic M,

how about E-Mailing the phone photos to yourself and retrieve the Mail on your PC for archiving + forum use.

For Apple i-Phone & i-Pad users a convenient way is to take a screen shot of a photo, wherever it came from & native resolution. The screenshot has sufficiently low resolution for direct forum posts.

This scheme might also work with Android OS phones,

Best Regards

I use a free program called IRfanview. It has a bulk resizing feature. It will take a folder full of photos and resize to any dimensions you want. And it's very fast. I can convert 20 photos in less than 20 seconds. You can also change the file format from IE: PNG to jpg etc.

I've done that but it is obscenely clunky.... Especially when you consider I write almost all of my VK posts on my phone which makes using my PC for any part of posting a huge disincentive for making the post. These has to be a way to get uploads into my Flickr account directly from my phone...I just have to spend the time to find it.
