Sony Indextron KV-4SV2 Repair

Hi!

I am currently trying to give a new life to a nice little Sony KV-4SV2. The service manual is freely available here https://archive.org/details/sonykvx370schematics

The first thing I did is clean the boards and replace the high temp capacitors that were leaking (all of them).

I then realized that the previous owner might have done repair as it appear some parts on the D1 board are missing. Obviously Q1501 is not there. The same for other SMD components next to it. See picture.

I cannot determine what is missing based on the service manual and the annotations on the PCB have been damaged by the cap leak. Any one has picture of the board or any info that could help ?

Many thanks

You might be able to glean information from this video. Several of the circuit boards are visible.

Is there a parts list to check in the service manual or elseware?

Thanks for the reply. I will take a look and see if the area of interest is visible.
The circuits are so packed that on the PCB is it has hard to see component number.

The service manual includes board views with the component reference designators, and legends for their location on the coordinate grid. That being said, the scan resolution of the document is not wonderful, so it's tough to read in places. But, having the legend with the coordinates should help your narrow things down in that region of the board.

You ought to seek out a better copy of the service manual. Maybe Sams has it, and you could ask them to make a better scan if necessary (they've done that for me in the past).

The scan is indeed bad quality and it is hard to see if there is anything near Q1501.
I checked and legends component location is only available for diodes and transistors. Nothing about location for caps or resistors.

I purchased the Japanese version of the service manual. Quality is a bit better. I have the impression there is no component near Q1501. Maybe just test points.
