Got me. I thought hallicrafters was long gone. Wish the listing had a picture. I recall seeing a very old Allied electronics catalog as a youth that had a pic of a Hallicrafters TV and it looked more like a horizontal O scope then a modern TV. It had dozens on controls and pots, but was very cool looking.

Anyway a google search on Hallicrafters only brought up this possiblity, which seems not to be truly the original company.

I got a rough T-54 from Tim a few years ago. Tim got it from Harry Poster at the AWA swap meet. I remembered this set in the cover photo of the Allied radio catalogue I had when I was a kid (reproduced in the picture frame beside the set) and always thought this was a cool vintage set. I was so pleased to finally get one (thanx Tim!) that I spent a good week fully reconditioning and restoring it, even replacing the 1/16" thick plastic window. Here is mine after restoration.

There are two different chassis in the T-54's. Both have channels 1 through 13 but the early 1947 model has all 6SH7 metal octals in the IF's whereas the later model has 7 pin miniature IF tubes. Mine is the early octal chassis.

The funniest line of this listing is

Here is what the seller sent me:

I found them via there web site. www.hallicrafters.com .They own all the hallicrafters trade rites for years now and have a couple of the old timers who followed them to Alabaster Alabama when they moved there many years ago. They also trade under the name: Professional Electronics Co., Inc.,150 AIRPARK INDUSTRIAL ROAD ALABASTER , ALABAMA 35007.(I was told the now do a lot of gov. work dealing with very sophisticated and top secret remote control work.) MANUFACTURE OF 'HALLICRAFTERS' ® PRODUCT LINE .(they own all rights, trade marks and manufacturing of this name) HALLICRAFTERS TELEPHONE : 205-664-1937 (has fax on it during week ends.) I honestly did not make this up I paid Hallicrafters good money to have
this T-54 rebuilt and they did an excellent job. They rebuild a lot more receivers and transmitters than they do T.V.'s. Check out there web site (I copied the above info. directly from web site.) I had several conversations with one of the old timers who had been with the co. since the Chicago days and he was fascinating to talk to. apparently this co. bought them out and they were located in Maryland at the time and moved to Alabama about 25
years ago or so.
