Strange Projector on eBay
This looks interesting, I've never seen one like this before.
It appears to be 1950's vintage. Works pretty good considering there's at least one tube gone to air and no rectifier plugged into the transformer!?! http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-TELEVISI...QQcmdZViewItem Last edited by Eric H; 01-19-2006 at 12:23 AM. |

Pretty neat...could the subchassis be for the audio? I could see the set still working w/o that gassy tube but not w/o the rectifier.

A weird one for sure! But it would look great next to a 1980s Sony FP-60 field sequencial projection color TV!

You mean a VIDIMAGIC unit...
I have one. What an interesting projector!! It is color, with only one CRT, and it does NOT use a shadow mask. Instead the beam is commutated to the correct phospor strip, by the position picked up from an "index phospor", which is behind the main phospor, and glows green. It can be seen EASILY. The light from this is sent back to a couple of "windows " on each side of the bell, and picked up by photosensors. From here, a board with a BUNCH of Small scale TTL IC's is used to convert that info into the proper guidance signals.
Mine works, but is NOT very bright, a darkened room is needed to ust it right. On the one end, is a lens, on the other, is a Beta VCR. Last edited by rca2000; 01-20-2006 at 01:39 AM. |
