New scores from the ETF Convention.
Due to lack of space, I only bought three this year. I finally got a DuMont... a REAL one, as opposed to an Emerson DuMont. I also got an Admiral portable and one of the first rectangular Zenith sets (post porthole). All three CRT's checked good. Here's the pics. Many thanks to Steve for everything he's done to make this great annual event possible. It was also nice to see everyone again.

I bought this vintage 1950s RCA audio mixer at the ETF convention. I also found a philco safari portable TV on the way there at an antique shop. Its newer then my other BW TV Sets but the price was right, $22.50.

I promised I wouldn't buy any more TVs and bring them home, and I didn't. But I couldn't pass up Steve's offer of free tape recorder parts from his junk pile.
I dragged this carcass home and now my ol' Ampex 350 console may live again after all! --Dave Sica Last edited by Dave S; 05-06-2006 at 11:02 AM. |

Someday I will have to go to this convention (it is pretty far away, but I have been to the museum before). That's great that they had old broadcast equipment too.
In our region it is almost impossible to find the very old TV's like that for sale. I don't think TV really became popular here till the mid-late 50's. |
