Cool Firestone TV

Cool Firestone TV

I hate eBay live auctions.

This place says it ships but doesn't pack.

If you live in Las Vegas, the starting bid plus the 20% auction fee might make it worthwhile.

Anyone know if this set is a RCA 721 "clone"? It kinda looks like it.

Yes, in fact I used the schematic for this set when I recapped my 721.
There are quite a few sets that used the 721 chassis.

I think it is a teletone clone. I have a 7" firestone which is a clone of the 7" teletone portable. The 10" looks like the teletone TV249 on the tvhistory site.

Eric,

I guess that should not come as a surprise, as there were a lot of set manufacturers which used the '630 chassis. RCA was licensing these designs or selling partly or fully assembled chassis to lots of makers.

Actually the 10" Tele-Tone is a clone, it uses the RCA chassis.
I have schematics on both these sets and they are basically the 721, there are some minor differences apparently hence the need for two schematics, (plus a third for an actual 721) I have a Coronado that also uses this chassis.
