Recap fiasco

So I'm working on this Emerson, the one with 5 25Z6 rectifier tubes.

Earlier I had wired a filter backwards, got a little hot but was working OK after I corrected that, well for a while anyway.

Last night this same cap decided to short out and take out 4 of the five brand new JAN spec tubes!

Well at least these are pretty cheap tubes.

Lesson learned, never use a cap that was hooked up backwards, not ever, not for a minute.
