How 'bout the crt plug? RCA was usually good about putting date codes on the cap. Is there a letter suffix on your tube number? Perhaps some of the info in this thread will be of use to you....

no letter code, just teh 10BP4. after reading that I am starting to think I will need a double Ion trap? I am not there yet but will prob need a pic of one so I understand what it is they were talking about.

Not sure if this is what they're talking about, but I have two Bendix 10BP4's... one in a set and one out... and the traps are different. One is twice the size of the other. I've included a photo of each.

All the spec's I've read call for a double-trap. Also, I have about a dozen 10BP4s and 12LP4s that all have a double ion trap with the black and blue poles like in Charlie's 2nd picture. I've never seen one with a single trap.
