Buzzing audio

When I watch my 1954 Admiral it works and sounds great. When I use the vcr/dvd player I get a buzzing thru the audio. Mostly from the dvd side of it. I use quality connects on everything. I have read that Admiral had service bulletins on buzzing in the audio, but this set does fine off antenna. Any help?
Dan

It could be that the RF modulator in the DVD/VCR you're using is not quite right on the sound carrier frequency...you might try an external modulator from the audio/video output jacks.

If this uses a quadrature detector you could try adjusting the quadrature coil (making sure you note the original position of where it was)

If there is an AGC adjustment on the set, you might also try adjusting this. The signal strength from the modulator could be on the verge of being too strong.

If there is no adjustment, you can buy a little device at Radio Shack to attenuate the signal.

I have a couple of the Radio Shack attenuators and they work well. These could be hard to find now as Radio Shack has quit carrying them in my area (Texas).

Thanks guys for the tips, did a search on Radio Shack site for attenuators, came up with nothing. I travel the midwest so I will check in some stores I know of. I will work on the rest of advice given next weekend.
Thanks
Dan
