12" Hoffman w/doors I got cheap on eBay

Last month, I got this Hoffman 12" table model with doors on eBay Buy-It-Now for $35... It was missing the knobs and CRT, but cabinet not too bad. It was local, so I went and got it the following weekend. I stuck it in a corner behind the sofa for now.

Anyway, the seller said it somewhat worked, but naturally I didn't (and won't) try to power it up until I have recapped it. I harvested a good 12LP4 from a junker, and I had plenty of original knobs in my knob collection! So take a look at the link from the eBay ad, and this photo below is how it came out:

very nice Charles. Cabinet looks good, and even better with knobs and a crt.

have you gotten the chassis working, or is it mainly a display piece for now?

I really love the looks of this little set! it's a shame we don't have pre-1950 sets here in Italy

BTW, nice saddle Charles, are you riding in it?

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

Jordan, I haven't touched the chassis yet, but I plan to. I love the way those Hoffman sets look with the green lens. Believe it or not, I actually used one of those when I was in high school as a daily use set, and it was UNrecapped! (early 80s)

Francesco, That saddle belongs to my girlfriend... She does ride, but not with that saddle. It's an heirloom that belonged to her Grandpa. I prefer motorcycles to horses... Every time I try to ride a horse, it makes a beeline for the nearest LOW tree limb!
