Hello folks, I just wanted to introduce myself and say "Hi!". I am a 40 yr old ham operator (KG4CNA) and work in the commercial broadcast business (radio). I have always loved radio since listening to my Dad on the radio when I was a kid.
I have just purchased my first tube radio, a Zenith C835R. I found it on eBay and it was in excellent working order. Needs a new grill cloth and a little more cleanup, but it sounds great! I have just scored another Zenith tube radio...this one is a A835R, very similar to the C835R I already have...just a few years earlier. It is also in working order, but will need more work than the C835R. Anyway, I have enjoyed reading the posts so far and hope to learn much more as I undertake this wonderful hobby of antique radio. Thanks! Allen |

I was actually looking a Zenith C835R listed on eBay recently; it was unusual as it featured the old-style "Y" or "800" series cabinet but newer knobs, like those found on the C/H 845 sets. Looks interesting...nice radio, I bet it sounds great.
Anyway, welcome! You'll find lots of folks here interested in Zenith and old radio in general; a good, knowledgeable group.
