Just so everybody understands, we're talkin' point-to-point wiring here. Printed circuit boards weren't really common in the late 1950's when this was first designed.
So don't think SMT, either.

Oh, btw, there are certain capacitors that are actually, individually, famous.
Take C-553, for instance. This is known as the "death cap" because if it shorts out, it will take out your "unobtainium" mechanical filters.

well, on the bright side about 50% of those can be taken off the table as they're trimmers, mica, or ceramic caps. Generally speaking those don't need to be messed with.

The Hammarlund SP-600 is EVEN WORSE, if you can believe that....And R-390A caps are at least "relatively" easy to get to. Replacing the ones in an SP-600 has been known to make strong men weep....
