For that price the chassis had better be covered in GOLD!!! They must have been smoking some good S*** I was lucky to get $130.00 for mine restored.

Well, maybe, if you had documentation that it was Paul Galvin's personal set- or maybe Harry Truman's, but that much? No way! Hell, it don't even work !! Obviously whomever won it got caught up in the "It must be old-therefore its rare & valuable" syndrome. Solly, Charlie. Not this time.-Sandy G.

I saw one go for over $500 a few years ago. 'Course myself, I'm a disciple of that old economic principle "Buy high, sell low" (A shirt-tail relation to the carpenter's adage: "Measure once, cut twice".)
I'm still hoping that all my junque will turn out to be some sort of retirement account. At least all the restoring I haven't yet gotten around to will keep me off the streets and out of trouble in my golden years. --Dave The New Jersey Antique Radio Club |
