AJA radio???

I wondered if anyone could tell me about Aja radios? I bought one today and it sounds pretty good for an old mono. Does anyone have one? I'll try to post pix when I get home later tonight.

Thanks

Tom

I had one. They are not very common. Very nice sounding radio though not the most high end for the time.

Heres a little history-

Alfred Jentsch, radio engineer.
He started business with winding R.F. coils in 1945.....
In 1946, he began to manufacture various other radio components.....
1952 was the start of manufacturing radio receivers- including those for the "Tefi" company. (6mill$man)
(The Tefifon was, for all intents and purposes, a phonograph on a tape cassette.)
Most of Jentsch's radio production was branded for other companies.

As the competition increased for the radio market share in the mid-fifties, Herr Jentsch went bankrupt in 1957, being unable to compete with pricing.

The AJA Elektronik company- (producer of the radios under discussion,)- was formed in 1958 from the remainder of Alfred Jentsch's bankrupt estate...He died young, at 43.
The firm of AJA manufactured radios such as these shown above, from 1958 to 1962.
This was during a period of extreme growth of the German radio industry, with the rising popularity (and exportation) of the various electronic products

A photo of my old one-
