I tried to download and save the file three times, but I get a message "the file was damaged" in Acrobat Reader every time. Have any of you here also had this problem? Thanks.

Fun to read! After ten years of color TV, all the tube types were new except for one; the 3A3 H-V rectifier was the same in the CT-100.

Could you imagine trying to find someone today with the skills to put one of these kits together? Very few and far between compared to what the numbers would have been back in 64...

I could do it, but you're right, there can't be too many who can. I think all who can are members here. LOL

Now, if you want to talk about building from scratch without step-by-step illustrations, I'd agree 100%. |

ago, I have a hard time believing this statement could be true. In fact, I trust the absolute number of people performing skilled work with their hands (surgeons, plumbers, pianists, microwave engineers (!), you name it...) is greater than ever. Just my two cents' worth. Great Heathkit TV, by the way. My only Heathkit experiences were JK-1022 and IM-17 (you find out what these were). |

OK electroking.. world wide, you are probably right, but as far as the US goes, and maybe Canada (no idea of how the educations system works, or how much people there actually have mechanical abilities) I bet not near the people would even attempt one of these kits today like they used to years ago..

I dare Ramsey Electronics to produce a flatscreen HD set, say 46" for under $500 <grin>.
Probably can't be done, but wouldn't it be a kick?! |

I just tried again, and it worked the second time. Maybe my problem was fixing the file name to "Heathkit" every time until the last. That is a nice brochure!
