I posted in want ads, but, only got one reply.
Can anyone help me get parts for my set so I can rebuild it? I need knobs, back cover, dial escutcheon, picture tube, speaker, screws, etc.... I love this set, and, want to see it play again. Cabinet is in excellent shape. It just needs some help. What year was it made? I really like the style of this set very much. Bill Cahill

Hi Bill. Looks like I'll be the first to post in this thread too
![]() There were two 10" bakelite models from Admiral. The 20X122 is from 1948. the very similar looking 24A12 is from 1949. The 20X122 has a single chassis with a brass colored bezel. The 24A12 has a split chassis (lower half has the power supply and audio amp) with a white bezel. Here's what it looks like: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffjackson/4009712023/ Sounds like your set is really missing a lot of stuff. Even the speaker is gone? I hope you can find the right replacement because the field coil doubles as a filter choke for the B++ supply. Good luck Bob Last edited by bandersen; 10-27-2009 at 02:15 PM. |

I had the bad speaker with no cone, bad voice coil, but, now I can't find it.
I really do want to fix this set. Thanks for information. Bill Cahill

Found the junk speaker to the set. Plug is also broken. Field coil, and, output transformer look o.k.
Haven't tested them yet. Cone is gone, and, voice coil is destroyed. Bill Cahill
