Old and New...

My second Sony Bravia. I gave one I bought last summer to my sister, who needed a new set.

The Crosley I'll eventually overhaul.

The makeshift arrangement for the Sony will be corrected when I get a chance. Meantime I will be busy removing snow from where I will not like it to be over the next few.

Love the Crosley...The Bravia ? Who cares...Sony lost a LOT of respect from me when they killed the Trinitron.

While I sympathise with you I've learned long ago not to spit into the wind of progress. There are too many other people that think differently in our population. Bear in mind the disappearance of analogue TV signals.

The first flat-screen I bought went to my sister, who needed a set that would work adequately on her Comcast cable service. Now I have one that is much larger, and is far less in price.

I'll hazard a guess that the old Crosley went for about the same price as my earlier Bravia. And that such price accounted for many more weeks of pay for the average wage-earner then than now.

Let's look on the bright side of things.

I still have several Trinitrons around here of which I make very good use.

But when a major malfunction happens to any of them--such as CRT failure or what--I am prepared to let go.

I am hoping that the CRT in that old Crosley is still in OK condition. I have my doubts. But I haven't delved into that project as of yet...There it sits until I get a round tuit.
