Philco

The Philco of Dwight's is operational again with a completed restore on TV/ Stereo and turntable, after some IF board issues we finally got it to take a good tone and picture blur was gone and it now tunes all stations very good. Very pleased with the outcome, thanks again Dwight!
Some screen shots with a bad cable connection but perfect with DVD or the other cable connection that my RCA 187 is on.

It's looking good, that's my old Philco. I bought that set from Dwight a few years ago, hauled it all the way back out to CA, then moved back to MI with the set, and traded it back to him for a couple of space command Zenith b/w sets.

When I had that set it worked for a while as I got it, then I started having all kinds of problems with color sync. Eventually I got it working, but when I hauled it back to MI and turned it on it had all those problems you had to deal with. I don't know if it was shaking around in the moving van, or the cold (it was down around 0 in Missouri on that drive) that caused it, but it worked fine before I moved it.

I remember that I couldn't get the phonograph to work automatically though. But that is a new needle I put in there that I almost never used at all. I liked the way the dials on the stereo light up in that unit.

Adam,
I heard it made a few trips around the USA,I am watching it right now and once I get the cable splitter connection fixed it should be good. There was a definite problem in IF so we shook it out pretty good with all new caps/resistors and tubes. 5 of which were shorted, and a hand full of bad resistors. One IF resistor that was new was a problem causing blur once replaced again it was good to go, it will be my kitchen daily runner now. PLayer works now as well and yes a new floating diamond needle. It was definitely yours.

Adam,
You were right about the stereo I lit it up after dark I put a pic in my album of it lighted,it receives stations from all over a large area where as the Maggie cant pull anywhere near as many in for some reason with an external anntena. The Philco was pulling South Bend WNDV FM in from my basement crystal clear with no antenna, my car can hardly get that in on a good day.
