Crosley TV previously owned by bears
Look at that circle on the cabinet behind the fine tuner -- worn down to bare wood long ago.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=280528165821 Maybe the TV was owned by bears. Or they lived in a reception area with lots of ghosts. Too far from me, but I like that Crosley "dashboard." Phil |

It looks like the same kind of finish that is on a '54 Sentinel that I am working on-a really thin coat of lacquer, with the base wood stained a very dark purple/red. I guess it was more economical, but it leads to wear like this.
The set is also from Michigan-if that is where the set was originally running, you would have had stations from Canada, Chicago, and Detroit to pick through, even in the early 50's. Plenty of chances to really work that dial. Don't know if there are any bears living in Michigan... |

Only when they play the Lions.
![]() Anyway, maybe the local oscillator was drifty, prompting the owner to fine tune frequently. Or they were early channel surfers.
