Converted Digital,on color roundies
This probably has been asked before, Does anyone know if WNDU 16 WSBT 22 WHME 46 or WUHQ/WOTV 41 still broadcast in Analog in the west Indiana/ Michigan area?
I am having work done to my house and the dish is being disabled,Comcast cable is just south of me and does not reach me. a converter box for digital would be needed I am sure I am too far away from any digital signal. I am in flat land area with few trees but None of my roundies has ever used UHF/ non satellite converted digital, I dont even know if they work on UHF I can test a signal with my ct2000 and ct187. The construction people can put up an antenna on the roof only if it can get analog signal. Any suggestions would help. |

Check TVfool and it will tell you what is being broadcast in your area.

The larger antennas work great! I use a Channel Master 4251 for UHF and a Wade VIP-307 SR for VHF. Neither of these are made today but the Channel Master parabolic is available now and then. The problem is they get pricey!
My standby is a Channel Master 3671. I can't complain about the 3671 as it picks up good for being a combination antenna. It was the first antenna I had back up after Hurricane Katrina. I also use a Channel Master 7777 amplifier. It is the only one that does not overload. It it is temporary situation, there are a number of sites that give instructions on building a UHF bow tie and I've built a number for neighbors that live about 55 to 60 miles from the stations. They say they work fine. I have built the 4 bowtie and even stacked two of them. If you only need UHF this is a great way to go. The single 4 bowtie will give about 70% of the parabolics performance. I use Alliance 110 rotors. They may be old but they are very rugged. You will have to change the electrolytic in the control unit and lubricate the rotor unit. If the weather guard is missing I fabricate one out of a plastic box and caulk around it on the shaft to seal it. |

I am thinking for my out buildings I will put this old thing up wire it to the house until they are finished with the satellite area of the house then use it in the out buildings for analog/converted signal. It has an archer rotor control and unit on it already just needs to be dusted off and put together, btw that was a very helpful website thanks for that info!

Larry, you mean WGN? that would be great if I could, See Comcast gives all the indiana channels plus michigan, direct tv doesnt offer Indiana at all unless I used your zip code for programming during set up with the company. Wsbt always gets blocked out by WWMT so I am kind of tired of no choices.
