1950's Blonde General Electric tv on craigslist

Found this neat '50's blonde GE with sleek tapered legs on craigslist.

Does anyone here know what year it is?
I've looked at the tv history site and unfortunately they have hardly any photos of General Electric sets.

Looks like the basement flooded and they ripped up the old floor covering.

I suppose those legs are original, but to me the set looks awkward propped on tiny pencil legs. (My black CTC-11 is the same, only more so. An immense color TV that takes two strong men to lift, with little legs that will snap if you say Boo. I unscrewed the legs and put it on a sturdy low table.)

Kind of a cool TV otherwise, but in my book its value is more in the $50 to $75 range.

Just my $0.02.

My brother had that exact same set, but in a brown cabinet. The design is a bit unusual in that the pic tube and chassis are assembled as a unit on a plywood base. The cabinet which consists of only two sides and top, lifts off the base. Access panels in the base open for under-chassis servicing. The setup is quite functional but kinda flimsy and cheezy looking with the cabinet off.

My brother's was a tabletop set. I believe there was an optional matching stand available for making it a floor-standing 'console'. The set in the OP's post looks like it's sitting on a stool, as legs could not have been attached so near the center because of the big access holes. Legs would need to be attached out near the corners. Bill(oc)

Good one!

Now, if this guy in Anaheim wants $ 200 for this, I can pinpoint his location within Anaheim.

He's in Fantasyland!
