Dumont RA103 "doghouse" on CL

I'm tempted but the broken dial and work he's done to it make me wary.

I'd love to have one of these some day but I'd be leery of this one too.

Quote from ad:
"My goal it to buy a Bobbed Deuce and I am open for Trade."

Pardon my ignorance, but what is a "Bobbed Deuce"?

I wasn't sure and did a web search. Apparently, it's a tough little military vehicle

Certainly worth more than his TV.

Considering he didn't even clean the face of the CRT, I doubt he's done too much with it. Or maybe those were the before shots?

I was wondering about that too. How much effort does it take to wipe off a CRT ? It's only about a 20 minute drive so I might swing by and take a look later this week.

Weird thing is that I found my last two sets (Admiral 19A11 and early Motorola VT71) within a couple miles of this one.

Worth the price in any case, someone on ARF was looking for a cabinet recently.

It certainly doesn't look like a set someone has put hours of work into?

The first thing to go if I was working on it would be that mangy piece of rubber they used to mount the CRT, half the time those things have turned back to liquid and are dripping all over the face of the CRT!
Crosley used the 103 chassis also.

Ah, I was wondering about that. I've seen several of these sets with that goo running down the screen.
