Arci 2011 Swapfest
I attended the ARCI (Antique Radio Club of Illinois) swapfest today. I spent most of my time digging through boxes of knobs and hanging out with WISCOJIM.
Here are a whole bunch of photos I took Jim kindly gave me an empty Admiral 19A11 bakelite cabinet. That will go towards restoring the smashed one I picked up recently ![]() ![]() It's actually black bakelite while the broken one is brown. Which is fine by me. All my other bakelite sets are brown and it's nice to mix thing up. I even have some blank and brass knobs that I think will look great. I'll just need to extend the shafts a little. ![]() Admiral 19A11 knobs by bandersen, on Flickr Speaking of knobs, I dug through quite a few bins and came up with these. I finally have two of the four gold knobs for my 7VT2 ![]() I don't really need the xtra gold or red 9T1 and 9VT1 knobs, but I figured someone might. I do need a matching outer knob for that Philco knob center/front if anyone has a spare. ![]() Finally, I couldn't leave with out buying at least one set so picked up this poor little Emerson 639. The metal back is there, has all the knobs and looks OK inside. The cabinet could use some new vener though. I'll take a closer look later tonight.

Yr Admiral case has the seemingly obligatory Dirt-Dauber Nests in it....But they'll clean out dandy ! Mine was SO Nasty when I got it, I took everything I could out of it & took a scrub brush & Tide to it in the shower, dried 'er good & then went over it w/Meguier's Body Scrub, & then a couple of coats of Meguier's Pure Carnauba wax...It GLOWS now...

LOL it sure does. Coincidentally, I picked up my other, brown 19A11 at the same swapfest two years ago. The top polished up real nice, but I've yet to tackle all those dang holes
