Meet My New Friends
So yesterday I go to the my favorite antique mall and here's what I came home with. One Admiral Model 17T12 great condition, one Crosley model 9-425 in good condition w/ face cover. And one GE, not sure of the model #. In "Restorable" condition. What a day!!

Yee-hah! That's my favorite Admiral cabinet. The Crosley is unusual, too.

I bet that antique store loves it when you show up! Three sets at from one stop that beats my record!

The Crosley is interesting, a radio with a tube.

I walked into the booth the other day, the first one I saw was the Admiral, my heart started racing and then I saw the other two....I almost fell down. Reminds me of Deer hunting, sitting in a tree stand bored to death and all of the sudden there's a deer standing in front of you. I've almost vibrated out of my tree several times over the years due to that rush of adrenaline. I get the same way when I see an old TV for sale. Theres another GE that i found, same style except the picture tube frame is square instead of rounded on the sides. I may pick that one up today if it's still there. It's in overall better shape than the one I bought. |

I have an Admiral 17T12, also with the "Chinese" grill. It's amazing how good the Bakelite cabinets look after 60 years--assuming they never got knocked off the table. My set has been gathering dust for over a year. I'm looking forward to see how your restoration goes.
