Wow! I saw that lasting a while ago and thought it was one of the Telstar reproductions because of the color. Never occurred to me it could be from smoking

Uggh, you could get lung cancer just having it near you.
The whole thing needs 409 bath.

I can't believe the front control panel is that dark just from smoking though, must be paint or stain? Maybe it was in the Kitchen.

Beyond that the cabinet seems to be in pretty bad shape and there's about a 10% chance the CRT is good.

When they have that kind of a nicotine coating, they're almost impossible to get perfectly clean. I never consider buying and restoring anything that nasty.

I was going to mention the smoke getting into the plastic. Clean it to death, and then replace all capacitors. When it fires up, you will be reminded of a smokers household.

I have a little Motorola 17" color set from the end of the tube era. It was a smoker TV, and it took over 4 years of daily running to lose the ciggy smoke smell... mostly.

I can almost smell that thing from here! You'd never get the odor out of that thing, no matter how much you clean it, the cabinet would have absored nicotine and once it got going, the heat would fill the room with the stench!
