Recent find: Sparton 10-76PA Deco styled console radio/phono
Recent find from earlier this year. I'm a sucker for Deco / Machine Age styling.
Anybody familiar with this set? Model 10-76PA. Rare? Common?

Not familiar with the set, but rare that it would still have the original cardboard turntable cover from the factory. It shows FM channel numbers rather than frequency:channels 200 to 300 correspond to the new FM band of 88-108 mc. Nice that it has the 6-18 mc shortwave band. NostalgiaAir puts it about 1948, as would the fact that it has the new FM band rather than the old, or both bands as some intervening sets did. Looks like a 78RPM-only changer? If so, it just missed the 1948 release by Columbia of the first LP records.

I never paid much attention but I don't think that cardboard on the turntable belongs to that unit. Not sure why it's there...
