Rose Parade on a CTC-7
I enjoyed watching what I believe is the 60th anniversary of the first color telecast of the Tournament of Roses Parade on my 1958 RCA CTC-7, the "Abington." It was very sunny in the living room so I had problems with reflections. This is also the first anniversary of when I first fired up this set. Here's the thread I started when I first acquired the set: http://www.videokarma.org/showthread.php?t=252097 This is the kind of programming these roundies were made for

These early color sets are looking good... Apparently RCA actually used these rose parades to advertise color tv, see the pic below. I don't think I've ever actually watched it myself, but I have this advertisement because it shows the same model CTC 9 that I have.

Clark, are you still needing a back for that set? I ran across a CTC-7 "Anderson" with a typical ratty photofinish cabinet and a necked CRT. It has a decent back on it. I've been contemplating parting that set out, but it's been one of those very difficult decisions. I keep thinking to myself it might be better off if someone used the parts in a nicer cabinet.
