Digital To Analog Converter Boxes

Does anyone out there know some of the better brands of Digital To Analog Converter boxes ? I only have Antenna T.V. I have used Lasonic, Zenith, and Radio Shack(Digital Stream). Lasonic box seems to interfere with my RCA Console but not my Zenith Console or the Curtis Mathis Table Top.

The Insignia and the Zenith are the same. Those and the Digital Stream seem the be the most sensitive converters. The GE's, RCA's and Magnavox's seem to be OK in strong signal areas.
I didn't evaluate the Channel Master yet.

I can tell you that Apex boxes are pure junk. I had two of them that died in short order after I got them, ran very hot, and were not very sensitive when they did work. Fortunately, I didn't have any money in them.

I've got two digitalstream boxes that are around 4.5 years old and I have no complaints with either one.

I've also got a channel master box that is good; but, the front panel buttons "make contact" too long. As in, it may jump 2 or 3 channels when the button in pressed. It does not do that with the remote.

The Magnavox/Philco branded Funai boxes seem to be reliable; but, are not quite as sensitive as the CM or DS boxes.

The Zenith/Insignia boxes are also good.

I actually have only one complaint about the digital stream. The audio EQ is very weird. I have a certain sensitivity to certain frequencies, and the digital stream seems to have a LOT of treble sometimes, like almost ear piercing.. Mine has done this since it was new.
