Picked up an Emerson 1232 from C-List
Found this 8" emerson last night while browsing Craigslist, drove the 60 miles round trip to get it sight unseen, figured I couldn't go too wrong for $25 since he said it worked and wasn't too beat up for it's age.
It's in fair shape, scratches and the usual but it has it's knobs and it does come on, though the horizontal and vertical are out of sync, the antennas are still with tit but they are kind of cruddy looking, I think they would clean and polish up OK. It does receive a signal though. CRT was a little dim, could be from low HV or a weak tube, I have a spare tube but I may just use it for parts to fix up one of my other 1232's that needs a couple things. |

Many of those 8DP4's were short lived, as they weren't aluminized.

I have always liked those little Emersons especially because of the included radio. That woud have been a perfect bedroom TV back in the day.

That's one of the trickiest TV's to date. At a glance you can take it for a mid-60's set.
Nice find. You don't see them often. |

Some people have the popular misconception that an aluminized CRT didn't use an ion trap. The aluminized CRT's had a lot more brightness and contrast and didn't have to be maxed out in a brightly lit area.
