Wanted: Unknown brand late 70s 12" black and white TV
Hey guy! For the longest time I've been through hell and high water trying to find this set, but still no luck and not knowing the brand name is no help either. Maybe you guys might know or better yet have the same exact set you're willing to sell. It was my childhood TV me and my brothers played Atari on as my parents didn't let us use their 1986 GE console TV. Despite being black and white I had no complaints whatsoever. Last we had it was about 1993 when I was 7 I stuck a scissors through the speaker grill and ruptured the speaker. Plus the volume knob as loose that we tie it to the tuning knob to keep the sound going. I attached a photo so you guys can ID it. Thanks!

I don't think they're remember. I cannot make out what the brand name, but it kinda looks like it says "Boshei".

I was thinking Bohsei or Tatung - the three knobs are Volume, Brite and Contrast, and Bohsei was famous for the three knob combo. Probably 1979-1982 manufacture - I ran through all my Sams for other Bohsei sets, and most are the silver face or white cabinet sets.

I'd say 1979 because the photo was taking around 1980/81 and I remember my mom telling me my dad's couple B/W sets including this one and an RCA set from the same time period when they moved here from San Diego to NJ in 1979 because they were cheap. In fact I found the same RCA set back in May or June at GW for $20 in excellent working and cosmetic condition manufactured 1980. I'm also looking a "17 B/W they used to have too from the early to mid 70s, but I don't have any photos of it for you guys to ID it. I think it was solid state too.

my '78 Rockwell/Admiral 12" b/w looks just like this one. Solid state, made in taiwan. It's got what the service manual calls a "quick-heater-type CRT", however is not instant-on. Not a bad little set.

It if definately an Admiral or AOC ( division of Admiral) built set.
IIRC by this time Admiral brand was shut down but AOC started, never made sense what they did. It may be a Boshi that was a brand. Could also be any number of house brands. Very well made set, few electronic problems. Mostly knobs, antennas & dirty tuners. 73 Zeno
