Did my first repair in a WHILE...

SOme of you know that last year was NOT a good year for me.

It all began BAD this time last year---when my storage garage got robbed. I NEVER got back ANY of my stuff....and the landlords were NOT very considerate about it, either. I got a BIT of money back,m about 1K from insurance--but that CANNOT replace things like a 29JC20 complete chassis , a BUNCH of tube amp chassis, radios, tube car radios, etc...etc...


But if that is ALL that had happened.......I would have just "shrugged it off" as another disappointment. But it was just the BEGINNING of bad times for me !!

IN late MAy, I ended up with Kidney failure.....I was placed on Dialysis. I ALMOST dies, on May 18th, the morning of the ETF convention I was supposed to attend....but I was "brought back', from not breathing, and "Given another chance"..but only "half a man", as I describe myself.
days a week 4 HOURS a day of Dialysis...and this is STILL the case---and may be for a LONG time too....though my kidney function HAS improved a lot...

Then in Late August.....my dear mother died suddenly of a massive brain aneurysm. NO warnings. She was NOT sick--not even for a DAY !! That was EXACTLY the way she "wanted to go", quick, painlessly and not "lingering on machines'...so God was merciful in that too...but STILL mom was CLOSE to me--more than anyone else....and so I was, and still am devastated !!


ANyway.....I know most won't care--almost NONE of my "friends" or relatives did. Just a recap. But I DID fix my first tv board the other day--since mom died. A simple re-cap of an LCD PS. BUT I did it WITHOUT the set and made SURE all of the run voltages are there after repair--as I always did. It felt GOOD to get "back into it" after all of that trauma. I hope if will NOT be the last time either !! I also trolbleshot a projo--"leakage" on the signal board, and another flat-panel with no remote function, looks to be a bad IR sensor. ALLof that felt good to do !!

I SINCERELY pray this year will be better. I CANNOT stand another year like 2013...
