Holy cow! I've been thinking of selling my National HRO-500 and getting a nice R-390A, but not this nice! I can't believe he didn't post shots of the inside! Makes me verrrrry nervous. Clay

Just a blackface R-390A. Not even a Collins. I bet my '55 Collins would give it a run for its money. I don't think it's worth all that, but I ain't biddin' on it either. E-bay madness....-Sandy G.

My thoughts exactly.
$750 for a black-face Motorola, and $2,250 for a new cabinet & shockmount??? What's wrong with this picture?

I have one of the CY-979 cabinets, & I must say I like the old cheapo Budds better. You prolly will have to do a little surgery on a Budd to make the antenna connections fit right,, but you can lift the lid on a Budd & maybe make a quick repair if need be. The military cabinets-you have to remove the radio to get at it, & w/an R-390A, that's sorta a PITA.-Sandy G.
