Sad bunch of battered junk on eBay

I saw this on eBay, and at least I give the seller credit for trying to save it. But I'm afraid I don't see anything worth $595. One blonde RCA looks neat, but that's it. Oh, and also there's a Proton 625 showing in one photo, but that's probably not part of the deal...

I liked the one w/the big black burnt spot in the screen...I MIGHT only charge him $59.95 to haul this mess off, but these are pretty common Fifties junkers in no particular shape, except for the little blondie. She's kinda cute...-Sandy G.

Instant TV collection, just add pledge, Old English!!

A lot of sets, some interesting, ALL are probaly 50 to 55 years old.
These sets are worth that repaired, presentation is everything, it's a shame seller didn't invest a little time and effort to display better to attract buyers. One or two appear round CRTs!!! He's probaly tight on space, a half way serious offer might be accepted.

That stuff has been listed before. A lot of ratty cabinets and broken tubes. Hopefully it will get saved from the landfill, but I think he would be lucky to get someone to haul it all off, let alone pay for it.

I have seen this lot listed before. They are the 50s sets. I'm not really interested though. Too bad he doesn't have a 621TS.

I'm kinda UHauled out, but if I were going to make the trip I'd offer him $100 for the lot, no more. I think that's pretty fair.

That large round Admiral CRT set is nice, the large bakelite has potential. When did they stop making round CRts--51 or 52", that make Admiral 1950?Obviously, that motorola has busted CRT with spot on face of crt. He might have a chance if some details of condition of each set is given. Not a lot of info, but critical info to collectors such as , ---no cracks in bakelite cabinet, crt tests good, unit has sound but no video, not tested-- etc. If I had room would consider. If he's willing to accept decent offer, can always toss or swap , part out ones you don't want. Lager collections usually aren't offered very often. It would be nice to see seller get something for these. Good start for a newer collector. I'm sure cheap CRT on bay can be eventually found for Motorla in another set/make. Someones gonna need a room alone display these when restored. two of these sets are worth $100 alone.

The blonde & the round Admiral are kinda nice, but they're sets I'd pay maybe $10-15 a piece for. Space, thats the problem. Heck, if I owned a warehouse a pile of stuff like this wouldn't be too bad. But even then, I don't know if I'd go over $75 for all of it.

Cleaning the dirt off and applying a little furniture polish would have helped a lot. Looks like the Admiral at the top has been banged around way too much to save it. I have a Philco console just like the one towards the bottom with the missing right knob... has the split chassis in it. Many of them wouldn't take much effort to make them look nice, but some of those others would only be good for parts. In any case, 600 bucks is mighty steep.

He has a "Best Offer" option.
Someone nearby might offer $100 and see what happens (not me, no room left!) He might be tired of relisting it and sell.

The one Philco looks like it might have the 21EP4 I need but no way I could buy the whole mess to get it in unknown condition.

Yes, Eric, that Philco uses 21EP4... my same Philco has one (and is weak). It seems that particular tube easily weakens. Last year, I went to see two consoles in my area... one was a Maggie and the other a Philco. I was allowed to check the tube, and found both of them to be very weak. I really wanted the Maggie, but didn't want to bring home a set that needed a hard to find crt.

The seller is prolly one of these guys who lucked up on this stuff, & since it's Old Electronics, ipso facto, its Worth Scandalous amounts of Money. The same mentality that think that dirty white plastic AA5 kitchen sets are worth $50-75, at least. It would be a shame for at least a couple of these old warhorses to end up in the landfill, but I'm afraid where they'll end up. Shame.-Sandy G.

Here's your chance!

Seller has broken them up into indivdual sales and fair BIN prices:

Here's one http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-1950s-Ph...QQcmdZViewItem

Note! These are in Orange Massachusetts not Orange Calif like I originally thought!
