Spyder 2 calibrator on sale

see
http://www.huntsphotoandvideo.com/de...100&adid=ctown

This is the unit I bought earlier this year, which seems to work well calbrating computer monitors - also has a colorimeter mode for reading out the primary colors and white point of a display, besides the automatic correction for monitors connecte to your computer. I have never dealt with Hunt's, so cannot comment on their reliability.

Years ago I used to belong to an organization called ISF.It was more hobby than business, but at that time,I purchased a Philips PM5639 color analyzer and companion test pattern generator.Excellent results for CRT type tube sets, rear projectors and front projection systems. This combo set me back over $7 grand. When I decided to stop the calibrations,I was fortunate to sell it for almost what I paid.I now use a Sencore. Not as accurate as the Philips, but close and the cost was way less.I can use it with a laptop and the adjustments for both ends of the gray scale for 6500K can be dialed in usually within 10min,depending on the controls. You really can't do grayscale by eye.

Their website seemed legit and so I ordered the pro model. Hunt's shipped it out in a timely fashion , but wonder of wonders, UPS lost it... or rather said it was 'delivered' four days ago. Called Hunt's, who took the wheel and shipped another unit yesterday. As I write this it's in CT somewhere on its way here to NJ. Delivery is scheduled for Tuesday (this time, signature required). We'll see...

got the spyder 2 pro sixty minutes ago

Web-tracked the delivery closely this time since the first package was "lost." Blew a gasket when the tracking said an attempt to deliver was unsuccessful this morning at 10:31. I was here, so I guess the doorbell succumbed to an intermittent for 30 seconds just at 10:31. And the wind blew away the attempted-delivery tag from the vestibule.

Jumped in the car and headed to the UPS to politely blow another gasket when I spotted the UPS truck in front of the local HS. Confronted the driver who suggested the "wind" blew the attempted-delivery tag through the front door. And the bell broke too?!. Anyway, after a clumsy moment, he said he had the package and did I have a nice new year?

Oh well. I finally got my colorimeter. Am hoping to use it to define when '53 NTSC hardware is operating at its full potential.
