Philco Miss America

This set I believe is a Diamond D chassis television with wired remote/power tuning. The big black socket on the back is the plug for the wired remote control. Mine has two buttons on the top for power channel selection. Press a button instead of turning the knob.

Correct. That was the top line chassis for '57 and '58. It is among the best Philco B&W TV chassis. It was the model-year immediately preceding the controversial Predicta. It has a couple of minor quirks but, overall that is a desireable TV.
