Unhappy Olympic Television - Low Volume

Hi all:

Perhaps someone here might be able to clue me on this problem I am trying to solve.

I am dealing with Photofacts set 484 folder #1. Olympic chassis JD.

I have checked all tubes and especially 6CU5, 6DT6 and 6AW8A and every tube in the set shows good. I have also swapped these tubes out for other NOS tubes I have. No effect at all. So I am pretty sure it's not the tubes.

I recapped the chassis back in June and it was playing great for about a month. Now, the volume has slowly degraded about 75% and is really low with the volume turned all the way up.

The caps and resistors are all marked in the photofacts so which ones should I check out next?

I am a newbie still trying to learn from all this. Is there someone out there with this set of photofacts that can check out the schematic and tell me where to look next? I am wondering about the audio output transformer.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for any help - Fredro

Did your Sams have the Speed Servicing sheet for common problems? I found the following in mine. Looks like there is a little 1000pf that is prone to failure. See below.

Smile Thanks!

Thanks Charlie! - I did not have this sheet. I'll give it a check and post back on it.

I sure do appreciate it!
