Do you ever see Zenith Trans-Oceanics down there ? One Boatanchor you might wanna keep an eye out for is a Collins R-391, a military shortwave set that is almost legendary in its R-390 version. R-391s are rare, only about 1300 or so made in the early '50s, & for some reason, R-391s have surfaced mainly in Australia/NZ. The only real difference between the 2 sets is that the 391 has an Autotune mechanism. Anyhow, GREAT site & collection !

Hi Sandy, I have a couple of Trans-Oceanics, a 500h from 1951 and a Royal 7000 from 1970. They are awesome radios! I also have that book on the history of the Trans-Oceanic that everybody else seems to have

I will keep my eyes peeled for a Collins, they sound damn cool!
